Too little area to expand an image-only post fully

Usually to open a post fully, to read

comments or whatever, I can tap on the text. With an image-only post though, there is no text and (as expected) tapping on the image expands only the image and alt text. There is no room to tap at the bottom of the post where the interactions are, and anything above the image brings you to the author's profile. The only place I could find that worked was a tiny margin on the left of the image.

Elk's mobile view (https://elk.zone) solved this by expanding that area on the left quite a bit (for all posts, not just image posts).
